(...)The series "the captured sky" explores nothing less than the question of being. With the limited resources of art, Gallmetzer reveals to us the maximum freedom of philosophical thinking. We need only concentrate on the protagonists or figures in these works and how they travel from their own living environments to new and "other" worlds. The figurative element in Gallmetzer's paintings may be understood as an invitation to ponder central questions of our existence, the core of wich - even if science suggests otherwise - we aren't even close to understanding.(...)
